Compliance & Government Regulations
COBRA - MBA Administrators provides complete COBRA administration. The Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1985 is the federal health-care continuation law effective for group health plan years beginning on or after July 1, 1986.
If an employer qualifies, the law requires complete compliance with fines and penalties for non-compliance. There are numerous compliance points including a series of notifications before and after termination of employment. Documentation of such notices is required to be held for up to seven years.
HIPAA - The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996 includes provisions of Federal Law governing health insurance portability, health information privacy, administrative simplification, medical savings accounts, and long term care insurance. Myriad Benefits assists employers with the compliance of this complicated law.
